Join us at a beautiful modern Laguna Beach home overlooking the ocean, with spectacular views of Catalina Island and the city lights. Enjoy the sunset and a special evening of music!
Cellist Eiline Tai, age 11, plays with the sensitivity and technical prowess of an accomplished cellist more than twice her age, and her musical interpretations display the maturity of a seasoned professional musician. You will be enthralled and enchanted to hear and watch her play! CLICK HERE FOR A VIDEO
Eiline began playing cello at age 5, and made her first public performance at Carnegie Hall at age 7. In 2019, at age 10, she won the Southern California Philharmonic Young Artist Competition (prodigy category), and performed the demanding last movement of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the orchestra. Eiline is actively pursuing a career as a professional cellist.
At this concert, Eiline will be performing the first movement of the magnificent Dvorak Cello Concerto, 7 variations for cello and piano by Beethoven, as well as many other works. She will be accompanied by accomplished pianist and composer, Kevin Weed, who will be performing solo piano works as well, and a special appearance by violinist Jessica Haddy, concertmaster of the Southern California Philharmonic Orchestra.
The newly constructed house, designed by architect David M. Parker, was inspired by the mid-century modern style, with its strong horizontal lines, floor to ceiling glass, and use of natural materials and colors.
